Jabra back this durability with a 3 year replacement warranty. Launch date – November 2022
What We Love
+ Lightweight and sturdy, with a 3-year replacement warranty, ensuring durability for users in call center environments.
+ Two microphones work together to effectively block background noise and deliver clear speech.
+ Angled ear cushions and a pressure-relieving pattern inside the earcups ensure comfort during extended use.
+ Forward and backward-facing busy lights on the earcups help eliminate awkward interruptions and distractions.
What We Don’t Love
– No Active Noise Cancelling in the earcups.
The Blurb
Quality sound – both ways. Cutting edge tech brings out the soft parts of your customer’s voice and softens the loud parts, reducing the effort to hear and preventing call fatigue. Sound isolating (but not active noise canceling) earcups built in hearing protection and advanced speaker technology all add to the ‘easy listening’ experience. As for what the customer hears? just what you want them to – 2 microphones work together to block out the background noise really effectively and deliver impressively clear speech, also perfect for text to speech functions.
Amazing analytics This is really what sets the Engage 40 and 50 II apart from other call centre headsets. Jabra’s free Engage+ software download allows staff to monitor in real time their background noise, microphone positioning and even when they’re talking over a customer or leaving long pauses in the coversation. There’s also an additional purchased analytics package for call centre managers which can offer astonishing insights.
Lightweight, comfortable and durable The weight of the Engage 40 is striking as you take it out of the box. At 45g for the mono and 63 for the stereo headset, they’re close to half the weight of other current headsets. But this hasn’t compromised durability, on the contrary; they’ve been engineered to withstand the treatment of call centres and of being move about alot. Jabra are so confident of the quality they’ve extended their usual 2 year warranty to 3 years for the Engage 40 and 50 II models. This saves downtime and money in the long run for intensive users. Comfort is king with headsets – they can have all the bells and whistles but if they’re not comfy, they quickly become very unpopular and clutter up drawers and employee/er relationships. Angled ear cushions and a maze shaped pattern inside the earcups to relieve pressure on the ear whilst ensuring a secure fit means staff stay happy and focussed on what matters – the call and the customer. Oh and they can be worn with the mic on either side, unlike many other headsets!
No more ‘are you on a call?’ mimes The Engage 40 and 50 II take away that awkward mime (or worse, blundering in and distracting a colleague from their call) with busy lights facing forwards and backwards on the earcup (both earcups for the stereo version). You can also set the light to show you as busy if you need to make notes on a call or have an urgent task to complete. We get asked about fuction alot and it’s usually ony available on top end cable free headsets.
Customise your control As well as the many settings you can customise via the Jabra Direct app, there are 2 programable buttons on the control panel. Of course you have mute, volume and call control out of the box but the pre-programmed busylight button and another spare button allow you to customer the headset further to your requirements. Push to talk or a speed dial are the most obvious options but if you have something more fancy in mind, give us a bell and we’ll check if it’s do-able.
In Summary This is clearly a top end headset with innovative and useful features. It’s been designed for call centres but anyone who wants the best of the best in a corded USB headset will love the Engage 40.
