EPOS|Sennheiser IMPACT D10 USB ML II Wireless Headset D10USBII
Â
Essential Info
Launch Date September 2021. Supersedes the D10 Series
The IMPACT D Series from EPOS|Sennheiser is their wireless DECT Headset with a base unit for a single device such as desk phone or PC. The D10II models replace the hugely popular D10s with a very slightly different look but the same specifications. D30s have been added to extend the range to include a duo wearing style option ie 2 earcups.
As it’s name suggests, the D10 USB ML II connects to a PC or Mac only. It comes with a headband and earhook wearing style included in the box. Being a DECT unit it gives the best range, allowing you to wander 55-70m in a typical office (up to 180m line of sight). It is certified for MS Teams & Zoom and compatible with most softphones.

D10s vs D10IIs – what’s new
For all those that loved their D10 and are now looking for more, the goods news is that very little has changed! The specs are the same and the headset design is almost identical. The base unit does have an improved magnetised charging connection but that’s about it. They use the same battery BUT the ear cushion is new (though looks to us very similar).
Â
Call Control – Please note if you need to answer or end calls via the headset
The capacity to answer calls away from your desk – ie by pressing a button on the heaset, rather than clicking your mouse is dependant on programming built into the softphone (not the headset). You can expect call control; with the softphones listed below. Please see the for more specific information on other softphones (eg call control)
MS Teams, Zoom, AWS, IGEL, Snom, 3CX, Mitel, Unify, Citrix, Avaya DecConnect, Genesys, audiocodes, Wildix, Alcatel-Lucent, NEC, BlueJeans, Yealink, Cisco, inoovaphone, 8×8, counterpath, SWYX Grandstream, Google Cloud.Â

Digging a little deeper
The D10IIs buck the current trend for heavy, bulkier headsets. They are lightweight at just 22g with the earhook and 45g with the headband. Having 2 wearing styles means in the box plus the option of the new D30 model means everyone’s wearing preference is catered for so if you hotdesk or deskshare you can just put your headset on the base to pair it and you’re ready to work.
Sound quality is just as you’d expect from it’s Sennheiser pedigree and really this is crucial if you’re on calls all day. With a quality headset you’ll have better customer interactions and find yourself less fatigued at the end of the day. Â
When you’ve forgotten to put the charge on the base to charge overnight, just 20 minutes charge will see you right up to lunchtime (otherheadsts can take 1-2hours to acheive the same). Long day? Don’t stress (at least not about your headset) a full battery gives you 8-12 hours of charge.
Training a newbie up? You can role model the perfect call with up to 3 people at a time without all crowding around. When a manager needs to monitor calls, there’s no need for them to make you nervous sitting right next to you. They can just pair their headset to your base then go back to their desk to listen in. NB You will need a power cable to do this – see the Accessories tab.
If you just need a simple , mono style headset to work with your PC or Mac, you really can’t do much better than a D10 USB ML II. If you colleagues who prefer 2 ears you can all have the same base unit now with the addition of the D30 into this range.
